Cancer
A diagnosis of cancer can leave you feeling shocked, shattered, scared, angry, overwhelmed, numb, or confused. Even in remission, it is not uncommon to be plagued by fear of cancer recurring. Supporting you (a person living with cancer or someone who cares about them) could involve helping you process your thoughts and feelings, cope with the emotional and practical aspects of treatment, or consider how to communicate with others about your needs and experiences. Even with the tremendous advances in treatment, cancer usually prompts thoughts about dying and often changes the way individuals see life and what they want from it. In the same way that we prepare for other important things throughout life, talking with a therapist about the impact of cancer can help you process your fears, values, wishes, and achievements, and process life's inevitable losses. It can also help you identify and move towards the things that are most important to you and give you a space to talk candidly about your thoughts and experiences without worrying about being judged or impacting those closest to you. You don't have to be strong all the time and you don't have to go through it alone. Please be in touch if you would like to discuss how we might help meet your needs.
